Formed in 2012 this band (mostly musicians associated with the Loop Collective) mix contemporary Jazz with music from West Africa, Haiti and, particularly, New Orleans. Many of the tunes were compositions by band leader Tom Challenger. The New Orleans tracks included popularised versions of Mardi Gras Indian chants (“Hey Pokey A-way” and “Shallow Water”) and a Brass Band classic (“Liza Jane”).
