16th February 2015 at the Green Note, London NW1.
Folk and Roots / Folk on Monday, folkandroots.co.uk/.
Country: Britain - Scotland. Style: Traditional Scottish Folk.
Lineup: Patsy Reid (fiddle/v), Ewan MacPherson (g/mandolin), Alistair Iain Paterson (p/harmonium), Signy Jakobsdóttir (percussion/glockenspiel).
Patsy Reid from Perthshire was a founder member of Breabach in 2003, and remained in the band until 2011. At this gig she played her own compositions, others by contemporary musicians from England and Scotland, plus a few traditional tunes from her home area. It was a squeeze fitting the four musicians on the small Green Note stage (particularly with Jakobsdóttir's array of instruments). Still last time I saw Patsy Reid the band numbered 7 (not counting a string section of 5), see: www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/12202984924/. I’ve also taken photos of her with VAMM, Rona Wilkie and Kathryn Tickell, and of MacPherson with Fribo (twice) - to view click on their names in my tags.
