24th April 2014 in Louisiana Music Factory, New Orleans, USA.

In-Store Showcase, www.louisianamusicfactory.com/default.asp.

Country: United States - New Orleans. Style: Jazz - Traditional
.
Lineup: Gerald French (v/d), Doggy Hund (trombone), Joris de Cock (trumpet), John Defferary (clarinet), Georg “Schroeder” Derks (p), Hans-Martin 'Büli' Schöning (banjo), Markus “Benny” Daniels (b), Reinhard Küpper (d).

In 2011 Gerald French took over the leadership of the Original Tuxedo Orchestra (formed in 1910 by a band which played at the Tuxedo Dance Hall). This has been something of a family business since the deaths of the first two leaders Oscar “Papa” Celestin and Eddie “Red” Pierson - grandfather Albert “Papa” French and uncle Bob French both having long spells in the job. French performed the vocals on a recent album “Jazz for the Heart” by the Maryland Jazz Band of Cologne (around since 1959, so a mere junior compared to the Original Tuxedo), and this set was to promote the album. I’ve also taken photos of French with Leroy Jones (2011), the Young Tuxedo (2011), Topsy Chapman (2014) and the George French (2014). To view these photos click on the tag of his name.
