3rd May 2014 at the Fair Grounds Race Course (Jazz Tent), New Orleans, USA.
New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, www.nojazzfest.com/.
Country: United States - New Orleans. Style: Jazz - Modern.
Lineup: Jon Bastiste (v/p/melodica), Eddie Barbash (alto sax/soprano sax), Ibanda Ruhumbika (tuba/trombone), Jon Saylor (d/percussion), Barry Stephenson (b/bass g/banjo), Jamison Ross (v/keyboard/percussion).
Jon [Jonathan M.] Batiste is the son of Michael Batiste of the Batiste Brothers Band. As a child he formed the Batiste Kids with some of his cousins. His first recording was as part of Troy Andrews’ Orleans Avenue. He moved from New Orleans to New York to study at the Julliard School. He has remained there and formed Stay Human. At Jazzfest two New Orleans musicians - Barry Stephenson and Jamison Ross - joined the band. Their music encompassed a wide variety of different styles, often during the same tune. The only one of these musicians of whom I’ve taken another photo is Ross with Glen David Andrews (2014). To view click on the tag of his name.
