Every year a Scandinavian fiddle player performs at the Club immediately before Tania Simon’s weekend instrumental workshop. This year the musician was from Norway for the first time since 2006. Sturla Eide was born in Orkdal, Sør-Trøndelag (in the middle of Norway) and was taught by Ragnvald Bolme from nearby Meldal. His first set consisted of tumes from these two areas, before in the second half playing some of his own compositions. He has recorded under his own name and with the group FLUKT.
