15th April 2013 at the Green Note, London NW1.
Folk and Roots / Folk on Monday, folkandroots.co.uk/.
Country: Britain. Style: Traditional English Folk.
Lineup: Paul Sartin (v/fiddle/oboe), Benji Kirkpatrick (v/g/bouzouki), Saul Rose (v/melodeon).
Faustus in descended from Dr Faustus (1998-2005). Then Tim van Eyken and Rob Harbron departed. Paul Sartin (originally from London, but now a strong advocate of Hampshire) and Benji Kirkpatrick (Shropshire born) were joined by Saul Rose (Harrow born). All are known from their involvement in other bands - Sartin with Bellowhead and Balshazzar’s Feast (for photos see www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/sets/72157628525607451/), Kirkpatrick with Belowhead and Seth Lakeman, and Rose with the Kings of Calicut and Waterson Carthy (two spells). The three of them shared out the lead vocals (if my memory is correct when I saw the band in the past - between 2005 and 2008 - it was mainly Sartin and Kirkpatrick).
