JJames Hunter from Colchester, Essex, now aged 50, has been performing a blend of 50s/60s R and B/Soul since the 1980s (originally under the name Howlin’ Wilf). His breakthrough, particularly in the USA, came with his 2006 album “People Gonna Talk”. I never saw him as Howlin’ Wilf. My first view of him live was in 1997 at the Weavers, and the last (before this gig) in 2006 at Bush Hall. With the exception of American organist Kyle Koehler, the members of the band have played with James Hunter for many years.
