Celtic Connections Festival, www.celticconnections.com/.

Country: Britain. Style: Traditional & Contemporary English Folk.

Nic Jones was born in Orpington and released a series of classic albums in the 1970s and 80s. A major road accident in February 1982 ended his career. He didn’t perform in public again until he joined in a tribute concert in Sidmouth 2010. More recently he has started performing occasional concerts with this trio, including his son Joe and Belinda O’Hooley (once of the Winterset and now in a duo with Heidi Tidow). The set included traditional songs (“Seven Yellow Gpysies”, “Little Pot Stove”, “Barrack Street”, “Ten Thousand Miles” and material composed by Randy Newman, Loudon Wainwright, Bill Worsfold, Radiohead and Jones himself.
