21st December 2012 at Royal Festival Hall (Clore Ballroom), London SE1.

Part of Winter Festival / Friday Tonic (free event).

Country: Britain. Style: Dub-Reggae / Afrobeat.

Lineup: Robin Hopcraft (v/trumpet/keyboard/percussion), Idris Rahman (v/tenor sax), Julia Biel (v/percussion), Kishon Khan (keyboard/organ), Phil Dawson (g), Patrick Hatchett (g), Kodjovi Kush (bass g/v), Westley Joeseph (d).

This Brixton (South London) based group has released five albums since 2000. These have featured a variety of styles, though they have more recently focussed on Dub Reggae. Whilst they once often used guest vocalists, their sound is now based around the three part harmony vocals of Hopcraft, Rahman and Biel. The band includes members from Togo and of Bengali and St Lucian descent. I have photographed Hopcraft and Rahman as part of another group - the Fontanelles: see www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/sets/72157630071538207/.
