This was the the twentieth Grand Bal de Bath, The first held in September 1989 included La Chavannée and Ti Jaz. This one featured the latter and a development of the former.

Country: France - Bretagne. Style: Traditional Breton / Jazz.

Lineup: Olivier Mell (bombarde), Philippe Guyard (chromatic accordion), Dominique Boutot (g), Richard Dilly (bass g), Olivier le Gallo (d), Camille Ollivier (alto sax), François Cartier (trumpet/flute), and guest: Paul James (alto sax).

Ti Jaz was founded in 1982 in the style of Yves Menez’s band from the 1940s. Mell, Dilly and Ollivuier have been in the group since the 1980s. Le Gallo first appeared on their 1990 album Rêves Sauvages, Guyard on 1898’s Rythm'n Breizh, and Boutot on 2000’s Live in Ar Vag. Cartier is a recent addition. For the Grand Bal they were joined by Blowzabella’s Paul James.
