25th June 2012 at the Royal Festival Hall (Clore Ballroom), London SE1.

Part of Nucleo Festival (free event).

Country: Britain. Style: Jazz - Modern.

Lineup: Max De Lucia (conductor/arranger), Dylan Jones (trumpet), Sheila Maurice-Grey (trumpet), Jacob Phillips (trumpet), James Mollison (tenor sax), Sebastian Zapatta-Gutierez (tenor sax), Nubya Garcia (alto sax), David Turay (alto sax), Dorcas Awosode (baritone sax), Rosie Turton (trombone), Nathaniel Cross (trombone), Theon Cross (tuba), Charlie Stacey (p), Shirley Tetteh (g), Will Burcher (b/bass g), Femi Koleoso (d), Cherise Adams-Burnett (v), plus another trumpet player, another trombone player, another vocalist, and a rapper.

I may have got some of these names wrong. If anybody has any corrections or can supply any of the missing names, I would be very grateful.

Tomorrow’s Warriors was established by bassist Gary Crosby in 1991 with the aim of encouraging young Jazz musicians, and many noted performers on the British scene have passed through the ranks. The larger Youth Jazz Orchestra was formed in 2009 and covers the age range 15 to 25 year olds. A subset of the Orchestra won the 2012 Yamaha Jazz Experience competition (for under 19s) and five of the sextet were playing at this gig.
