The duo of Michael Ward-Bergeman (from Long Island, NY) and Cory Seznec (born in Brittany and brought up in Connecticut and Maryland) came together in London in 2005 as the Groanbox Boys, Around 2008 they added Paul Clifford (from the west coast of Canada and once part of the Be Good Tanyas backing band) and then shortened their name.
