Emily Smith is from Dunfriesshire and was the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year in 2002. She has worked with New Zealander Jamie McClennan since 2002. He joined her band as a fiddler. These days they usually perform as a duo, with McClennan mostly on guitar. In recent years Smith has started writing her own songs to go with the traditional material.
