26th (or rather early hours of 27th) January 2012 at the Royal Concert Hall (Exhibition Hall), Glasgow.

Late Night Sessions, Celtic Connections Festival, www.celticconnections.com/.

Country: Britain - Scotland. Style: Traditional Scottish Folk.

Lineup: Anne Martin (v), Angus MacKenzie (border pipes/low whistle), Ewan Robertson (g) and guest: Catherine Tinney (v).

Anne Martin was brought up in Trotternish in the north of Skye, and sings in Gaelic. I first saw her perform at the 1998 Celtic Connections, both solo and with a band Co. At this Festival she was accompanied by Angus MacKenzie (from Cape Breton and now based in Skye) of the band Daimh and Ewan Robertson (from Carrbridge in Strathspey in the Highlands) of Breabach. For some mouth music she was joined by Catherine Tinney from Skye (who is part of Tair, a trio with Siân James and Seosaimhaín ni Beaghlaigh).
