Ruaridh Macmillan is from Nairn in Inverness-shire. In February 2009 I saw him win the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year competition at City Halls, Glasgow. As well as leading his own Trio, he plays in the Paul McKenna Band. For photos of the latter see: www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/sets/72157625854941207/. Adam Brown is a longstanding member of the Trio, whilst Tom Oakes was playing his first gig with the band. Both are from England - from Cambridgeshire and Devon respectively.
