Needless to say, after coming back from a NYC trip, there was just no way I could pass on the opportunity to grab some *live* shots for my next conceptuals.

As some of you may not know, the building here is commonly known as the Flatiron building, and was one of the tallest buildings in NYC (and one of only 2 skyscrapers) back in 1902. It is also home of the Daily Bugle from the Spiderman serie, which is the reason why this just couldn't be missed! Standing at the right angle, the building looks quite puny as it is so thin.

Spidey was taken in a garage, and the suit worn by Vincent - major props for pulling out the pose I asked to do! (literally no photoshop to fix any limb positioning) I basically had to do it myself in order to show what I wanted - trust me, it wasn't easy task.

I've got a lot more shots taken in NYC, so definitely expect some more in the near future!

Lighting was done by a single large octabank high up to camera left (I actually flipped the photo horizontally).

This villain should be pretty easy to guess, so I will not give any free cookies to whoever gets it right!

To all photographers out there, if you think snapping photos in public is troublesome and you're afraid of getting "caught" - think of what Peter here has to do to get his money for the Daily Bugle!

Strobist:
1 huge octa high camera left at about quarter power.

Stay tuned for the next in the serie!

Well, this is the first shot of a serie I've been wanting to do for a while. As Spider-Man is one of my favorite superhero, he definitely deserves a whole tribute as part of one of a main project. I'll be taking a LOT more pictures involving different concepts, so feel free to check up from time to time whenever I'll come up with a new one!

I gotta say that it was pretty funny during the shoot that so many people walked up to us to take pictures, or film videos. It was almost as if they really thought he was the real Spidey. Some girls yelled pretty loud from afar and snapped paparazzi shot of us, pretty ironic!

One last thing for those of you who haven't seen the movie yet... what are you waiting for? It MAY have played a role into my inspiration for this album. May ;)

Stay tuned for more to come - because every photographer also have great responsibilities.
