We stopped over at the Earthships compound on our way to Durango and were intrigued by the way they built these green and livable houses using sustainable materials. Unlike the traditional adobe style of New Mexico for the exterior, these Earthship houses are mostly odd looking from their exterior. Yet they are functional with good insulation. I am not sure what to make out of these in this photo. But they definitely serve a good roadside attraction.
