One day we spent in the environment of Pietrasanta, about 100 km north of Guardistallo and a place we considered our second home in the early nineties. Seravezza only is a 10 minute drive from P'santa and was a splendid place to have a drink after spending a day in the cold brook in the hills. That's what we did this day too.
This square brings back good memories.

A 'typical' Tuscan landscape close to the town of Bibbona. This part of Italy is scattered with old farms that are now exploited for the so-called agriturismo. With or without swimming pool (most of them with...)

Piazza Anfiteatro is a unique location, quite unlike any other square in the world. Located at the heart of Lucca, one of Tuscany's best kept jewels with its medieval walls and its perfectly preserved architecture, Piazza Anfiteatro conveys a sense of mystery and fascination. It is built on an ancient Roman amphitheater, hence its name, and most of all its striking circular plan.In the course of the centuries, houses were built on the Roman ruins, and in 1830 the arena was transformed into a marketplace. Piazza Anfiteatro was then gradually abandoned, before being rediscovered in recent years. Today it is one of Lucca's favorite tourist spots, and it has lost nothing of its unique charm.
