Most of these buildings were built in the late 19th and early 20th century. They have become monuments and are part of our industrial heritage.

One of the last big companies on the upstream coast of the Zaan.

The strip of tarmac that runs through the picture is the so-called 'Ned Benedictway', called after WWII pilot Ned Benedict who survived a crash with his bomber in what once was a nearby meadow.
