Not long after this shot the wind picked up dramatically - the kite and rig were very close to crashing. This session would not have had a happy ending without all these years of KAP and kite flying under the belt.

The first Juliana bridge became too old and was no longer capable of carrying the weight of the biggest trucks. Opening of this new bridge has been planned for June 2009.

On the other side of the Zaan river you can see another windmill called "De Ooijevaar" or "The Stork". This windmill might be moved to the left side, joining the other windmills. I think it's a great idea, since it can't be visited by tourists and it shares its premises with a huge food plant. Far from ideal...
