User / jwvraets / A Sunbeam Entered The Bathroom Window
JW Vraets / 3,331 items
I had been watching some videos on YouTube and came across a gentleman named Sean Tucker (www.youtube.com/channel/UC_43mQmHwHPTBBqImFrWU3Q ) who spent a good bit of time discussing his approach to street photography while pretty much avoiding making the discussions about gear. Refreshing as well as very interesting. Among the topics he covered was a particularly good one of on shadows (www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBAFTR2lScY ). With that fresh in my mind, I made a brief visit to the lavatory and while comfortably ensconced, I noticed how a sunbeam entering the window was playing out on the wall opposite. It immediately struck me as being along the lines of what he was discussing. Quickly regrouping, I brought a small camera into the lavatory and captured this just before the sun’s location shifted and eliminated the bright patch in the upper right. I know that this appears to be monochrome/black-and-white image. It is not. It is full colour. Take my word for it. A bit of fun with a limited colour palette and some interplay of light and shadow with a touch of Sean Tucker inspiration. - JW
