This is in the Atacama Desert at the El Tatio geyser field. We stopped to eat and these gulls came scavenging. I manually focused at about 5 feet and set the aperture tight to f/10 -- the daylight was intense, so I was still shooting at 1/640s. The sharpness isn't perfect, but the motion blur in the back wing kindof gives it a shallow depth of field look. Anyways, I was just rapid firing and this was my favorite from the set.
Note: I titled this "Bonaparte's Gull" originally. My bird expert friend informed me that it is an Andean Gull, so the title is corrected :)

We ran into this fox on our hike down from the Las Torres mountains in Patagonia. It wasn't the slightest bit concerned with us.
I'm off to Saigon tomorrow morning!
