My last fine art architectural street photograph that I shot during my latest private photography workshop in Athens. This is a new genre and approach to photography that I'm working on and I'm talking more about it here blog.juliaannagospodarou.com/fine-art-architectural-stree...
Looking forward to meeting the students of my next workshop in Chicago Oct 17-18. The workshop was sold out and I'm offering 3 more spots, since I still have quite a few requests. Thank you for the trust. Join us here bit.ly/Chicago_2015

EYE Film Institute Amsterdam – 240,2 sec
It was a very interesting experience shooting this location even if my first choice angle was not accessible at the time because the area was closed. However this made me search for other angles that could express my idea and pushed me to be creative. Now I think this angle is even better than what I had in mind before getting there. Many times limitations can make you find even better and more creative solutions than what easy going situations can. I’ve had countless experiences like this in architectural design and photography, and generally in life. I could even say I love these challenges because they push my mind and imagination further and I become richer as a result.
If you want to hear what I think about creating fine art photography and how I do it in practice, I recommend you my recently publishes video tutorial Creating (en)Visionography - Long Exposure, Architecture and Beyond sites.fastspring.com/juliaannagospodarou/product/creating...

Second in my Amsterdam canals panoramic series shot last year.

I'm quite fond of panoramic images these days. They break away from the standard formats and there's nothing I like more than breaking the standards.

...or another kind of group shot
Athens Worldwide Photowalk 2012
I'm totally fascinated by the motion blur photography. It leaves so much to the imagination and I love that. I can find endless meanings in an image that captures the pass of time, I feel like I'm watching history being created in front of me and there's nothing more enticing and captivating than that.
The idea of taking such a group shot came to me already from May, when we were at the Google+ Euro Photowalk in Berlin, but back then I wasn't quick enough to set my tripod before everyone got lined up for the group shot (and not moving), so I had to wait for my next occasion. This occasion came on Saturday with the Athens Photowalk and happily this time I was quick enough. What was more difficult was to get the people to move enough for me to capture the motion blur. Everyone was chatting and admiring the view (we are here on the Areopagus, a hill facing Acropolis and overlooking Athens, a place full of history and myths) and things were somehow static. So I had to experiment with different shutter speeds and this one was what I ended up with, 82 sec, the highest number I got and the one that finally brought me enough movement to create the feel I had in mind.
