There was a yoga class or something like that going on in the square here when we walked back from dinner. (You can barely see it in the photo -- there are a bunch of people on the ground in the front with their legs raised slightly.) This is "one of the oldest cathedrals in the United States" according to the Wikipedia.

This was erected on the 100th anniversary of the battle. I think the style does look very 1930s to me, which has aged pretty well in my opinion.

One of the stranger things you learn when you visit The Alamo is that the world's chief collector of Alamo artifacts is one Phil Collins, the rock star drummer. Many or most of the artifacts on display are from his collection, and there's a recording of him narrating the history of the battle playing in the background over a large diorama in the museum. He got obsessed with The Alamo from a TV show when he was a kid in Britain, and when he got rich he spent his money buying Alamo collectibles.
