A collage celebrating five weeks of The Hop! I call it "Five Weeks in a Streetcar," with apologies to Jules Verne and his 1869 novel "Five Weeks in a Balloon." Five weeks: sun and warmth, cold, snow, ice; crowded Saturdays, quiet night rides, the lines at the Benelux platform, an electrical outage in my neighborhood when The Hop still ran, Hop03 electrical outage and waiting out the delay in The Soup House, sitting at Colectivo and watching The Hops go east and west, riding in the rain and snow, an astonishing tens of thousands of people getting on a streetcar for apparently their first time, and using the Hop to go to the grocery store, library, cafe, restaurant, bank, class, public market, store, the park, to catch a bus, to see a parade (Veteran's Day), to attend a meeting or talk, to get out of the apartment, to walk, to see the lights, to meet someone. I rode it every day. The modern era of streetcars in Milwaukee is off to a great start.
