What's coming? This is what a westbound train departing the siding at Wilsey, Texas, looks like when it is accelerating with four Santa Fe 800-class Alco RSD-15s on the point, May 3, 1964. Wilsey was on Santa Fe's Hereford Sub –– Third District at the tme of the photo –– five miles east of the New Mexico state line. The main line was double-tracked through here in the mid-1990s, eliminating Wilsey siding. Extra 804 West will soon be in Clovis, New Mexico. That is U.S. Highway 60 on the left.
