The wildlife park is situated around the large pond with the Swiss house.
During the English garden movement Prince Leopold of Salm-Salm built in 1893 in memory of his honeymoon a reproduction of Lake Lucerne and its rocky landscape.
Stone and wood were transported by ship and horse carriages from Switzerland to the Lower Rhine.

The path you follow in wildlife park "Anholter Schweiz" leads you into the enclosure of the donkeys, some deer and sheep. Some donkeys or sheep are right at you, especially when you are near a forage automat..... They know that few people can resist to throw 50 cent in the machine to get some food..... :))
When the animals are not hungry or not in the mood there is enough room to avoid human contact.
