Wood Islands Lighthouse guides mariners to Wood Islands Harbour. the lighthouse was built and put into operation 1876 and is inside the Wood Islands Provincial Park. The terminal for the Northumberlad Ferry to Nova Scotia is situated in the well protected harbour. The light has been automated and the building is now a museum.
