I had planned a trip to our FL. east coast for some low tide coastal rocks shooting with Claudia (fraggle Red). this past weekend.

Having arrived at 5am and a little spare time, I thought I would check out this LH. When I went over the high bridge the image I saw of this LH was awsome...well lit with side lighting, this LH's reflection in the water was something I had to shoot at night.

This of course is not that shot, but I also wanted to do a sunset and having found no suitable location with Claudia in tow, I went back later that day to find this location at an apartment complex. Not the best sunset becasue of the storms, but a lot closer than my initial choices.

After the first location really didn't do this lighthouse much justice, I had about 90 minutes to kill for the blue hour shooting. So I did something that I rarely do,when on a solo shooting trip, and that was go to the waterside resturant "The Crab House" and had a nice dinner overlooking the LH. After dinner I went down along side the eatery at the waters edge and found this composition a bit better to my liking.

This is the image that I initially saw when going over the Loxahatchee River bridge at 5 AM. I knew I had to come back here to do this, even though I was staying in the next town to the north in Stuart,FL.

This is an image made up of 4 separate images of the rolling surf at near high tide.

These rather large rock formations really make for some great wave crashing action. But waiting for a lot of action in one captures is fruitless. So here I watched only smaller portions of the composition and made several exposures before looking at another section of the composition. I made approximately 10 separate exposures of this same composition and manually blended the images together.

Folks, this is my new yatchet that I just took possession of this week. I saw it morred where I was photographing the Jupiter LH and thought to myself, I should buy this baby and take some time away from Florida. She's a little over 75 feet and has more room than my house on land.

I will be crusing down to St Croix in the next few months and hopefully won't run into any hurricanes that far south.

New cameras and now this....life is indeed sweet.
