I went back into a few older Sony Colorado images to look for elements that might make for EDR (extended dynamic range). I use EDR sometimes to reflect a single image that has been converted to a 16 bit color file (that is 16 bits of color per each color channel, red, green and blue for a total of 48 bits of color). Look under Image>Mode to do this. Then I can import it into Photomatix to be tone mapped. The electric blue that is obtainable in Photomatix as well as the amount of additional detail obtainable is worth the effort.
