The warm light of early morning reflects off El Capitan in Yosemite valley. A small section of the Merced river produces dappled ripples of the large monolith of granite.

I'll be in Yosemite teaching a sold out workshop next week. Looking forward to it!

The volcanic rocks of the Grandstand on the Racetrack playa are silhouetted against the early morning light striking the mountains behind them. The cracked textures of the dry lake bed, or playa, add interesting textures to this desert landscape.

Fog spills across the Golden Gate Bridge as seen from a high vantage point in the Marin Headlands approximately two hours before sunrise.

A section of ranbow glows vibrantly over the Panamint Mountain range in Death Valley National Park. The badlands, a geological wonderland of a landscape, of Zabriskie Point are seen below with the salt flat basin between. This was certainly one of the more memorable mornings spent in one of America's finest national parks.

I'll be headed back to Death Valley in a couple weeks for a workshop. 1 spot remains. Interested? Drop me a line. Thanks!

While most are still in bed lost in a dream state, I was out of bed at 2am and photographing the fog by 5am north of San Francisco. Normally, I love my sleep, but I couldn't resist. The day before, I had been up in the area teaching 1-on-1. On a mid day break, I wandered up into the hills and pinpointed this and a couple other locations. Seeing fog on the webcams when I got home that night ensured my return the next morning.
