We visited the Farmer's Museum in Cooperstown, which was a great experience. In addition to exhibits of farming implements, there is a working farm and small village with authentic period buildings transported from farms throughout this agricultural area. Chickens wander freely, and there are turkeys, goats, pigs, cows, horses and docents in costume.

We were fortunate to have only one rainy day during our autumn leaf-peeping tour of 5 northeast states (NY, VT, NH, ME and MA). Here on the Maine coast, the rain was blowing sideways so I jumped out of the car with my umbrella and quickly snapped just a few images of this beautiful lighthouse.

We arrived in northern Vermont at the perfect time to appreciate the autumn colors. This is a 9 or 10 image panorama of a typical roadside scene. Unfortunately, there are view vista points or rest areas or even safe areas to pull off the road for a picture, so I had to mostly take it in with my eyes!

We visited the Farmer's Museum during our visit to Cooperstown, NY. The changing leaves could be seen through the old windows in the barn.

I have been experimenting with the processing of this image of a blacksmith in the Farmer's Museum in Cooperstown, NY. It looks great in monochrome or sepia too, so I may upload an alternate version. The museum consisted of many outbuildings, most of which were brought in from around the surrounding countryside. The blacksmith's shop was completely authentic, down to the last detail. The docent was in period costume. He was about to start working on the parts to make a 1700's era pistol.
