Doulton Fountain in Glasgow Green is the largest terracotta fountain in the world and was installed in 1888. It has five tiers, is 46 feet high and 70 feet across the base. The building in the background is The People's Palace.

This amusing art installation is hung in the main hall of Kelvingrove Art Museum in Glasgow, the most visited museum in the U.K. outside London. The faces were so fun to admire from different angles, and you can witness the full range of human emotion by just moving your gaze a few feet!

There is a castle or a ruin around every bend in Scotland it seems. Many of them we zoomed by on the bus and only caught a glimpse of. But I had the front seat of the bus during a particularly scenic part of our tour. I thought of photoshopping out the power lines, but then decided to leave them in to show the contrast of modern and ancient. This one was built in 1450 and abandoned by 1760, after the Highlanders were run off their land during the Highland Clearances following the Jacobite slaughter at Culloden in 1746.

The skies over Scotland are always "interesting", by which I mean almost always cloudy.... This evening along the Esplanade in Oban, near the ferry to the Isle of Mull was no exception. I used my new super light weight MeFOTO for this long exposure.
