We went to a party last weekend hosted by friends who have a custom wood-burning pizza oven in their yard, made of stone imported from Italy. They have mastered the art of homemade pizza - better than any I've ever had in a restaurant !

One of my favorite pizzas; bake the crust first with just a skim of tomato sauce (we used 6-in-1 ground tomatoes); then when it is still piping hot layer on the prosciutto, sprinkle with arugula and fresh figs shaved parmagiano cheese, then drizzle with balsamic vinegar. Truly delectable; the tang of the tomatoes and arugula complements the salty ham and sweet figs. It also qualifies as a one-dish meal since it has the main food groups !
