I was playing around with the 50mm f1.4 lens on New Year's Day, photographing various objects in my exercise room, when I happened to glance over and saw my reflection in the mirrored closet door; thank goodness I was alone - some things are not meant to be seen by others..... I was using my built-in free quadropod - 2 knees and 2 elbows :)

Took the camera and 50mm f1.4 lens on several lunchtime walks this week; we've had unseasonably warm and very dry weather, so there is no excuse and no reason to sit at the desk during lunch hour.
I don't know the name of this cabbage-like plant but it is a bright spot in January; and the bokeh from my new 50mm f1.4 lens is dreamy; I've decided to leave it on the camera all month and see what I can see....

My secret elf gave me a box of Jelly Belly's for Christmas; and I haven't touched them yet - except to use them as photo props. Because once you start, there's no stopping.
My favorites are Cinnamon and Buttered Popcorn.
I took all these images in natural light from my east-facing kitchen windows, but it would have been better to have some fill light, especially for the dark jelly beans. No flash and my 50mm f1.4 lens wide open allowed me to take these at 1/100 second indoors ! f1.4 is amazing.

The 50mm f1.4 lens has come to work with me too....
When I'm between tasks at my desk and don't know what to start on next, I turn over the hourglass and watch the colored bubbles race down for a while..... takes about 90 seconds. maybe I should have taken a video instead !
