This rose and bud is from my garden; I must have done something right this year; all 6 of my rose bushes are covered with blooms!

The frame is true carnation pink, though there is a range of pink hues in the flowers.

The challenge for the sixty-four colors group this week was asparagus green; during my lunch time walk I took about 25 photos of green things, but I think this is the closest to "asparagus green" (and I really like the DOF from my 70-300mm lens...)
I was also reminded that shooting on a bright, sunny day is a reminder of the old-fashioned film shooting days - you can't review the image on the LCD after shooting so you need to do your best work thru the viewfinder !

My husband brought this carved dragon statuette back from one of his trips to Bangkok, and I keep it in my office. Coincidentally, in the Chinese lunar calendar, I was born in the "year of the dragon" - I guess I'm a dragon lady !
