I think this portrait view may be more interesting and dynamic than the previously posted landscape view (also seems to be more focused)

The not-very-cleverly named falls on the McCloud River in the shadow of magnificent Mt. Shasta. Lower Falls, Middle Falls & Upper Falls are accessible from the River Trail. ~50 ft. high and 100 ft. wide
This is a handheld HDR and a bit fuzzy since I wasn't ambitious enough to haul along the tripod - just hiking at this altitude is difficult enough for me !

From the vista point in Mt. Lassen National Park in Northern California, the air is crystal clear and you can see forever. ~8,000 feet elevation - feeling breathless but elated at the "breathtaking" vista

At >14,000 feet, majestic Mt. Shasta looms over the landscape for many miles in northern California. It will appear suddenly on the horizon, above the tree tops, across a valley, through the leaves... and provokes an awed response every time I see it.
Mt. Shasta has 7 glaciers which are actually growing - in spite of global warming...
My husband was chagrined to hear that I stood in the middle of the road and set up my tripod to capture this view. He is now convinced that photographers are nuts !

Founded over 100 years ago in the tiny town of Dunsmuir on the Sacramento River in northern California, it's as much a museum and gathering spot as a store to buy nuts and bolts. The walls are lined with memorabilia, antique tools, yellowed newspaper articles and quirky objects that celebrate the heritage of this area - railroads, logging, hunting, fishing, mining.
The current owner keeps a blog:
www.dunsmuirhardware.blogspot.com/
Shown below are a few of the objects on display.
Oh by the way, you can buy almost any household object you could want here...
