The Hugo Voeten Collection reflects in his personal perception of Modern and Contemporary art, with
a meticulous selection of classical and contemporary Belgian art (from Jules Schmalzigaug, Leon Spilliaert, Rik Wouters and Frans Masereel to Jef Geys, Michel François, Wim Delvoye and Thierry De Cordier). Also included are masterpieces of Western European art from the beginning and first half of the 20th century (Auguste Rodin, Arno Breker), as well as current art pieces and projects in progress by a number of acclaimed contemporary artists (Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Vanessa Beecroft, Paul Pfeiffer, Sophie Calle or Mircea Cantor). In addition, a special part in this collection is reserved for
Bulgarian art, which in itself is the largest such gathering of Bulgarian art outside the country’s borders.
