When the organizer of the Rainbow Mini Swap on Instagram asked for an angel in Canada to make a quilt for someone whose partner had flaked I decided that it was time to pay forward some of the awesome I've received in IG swaps and signed up to be that angel.

Title: Rainbow Goose Dash
Pattern: Goose Dash by Jeli Quilts
Fabrics: Various fabrics from my stash, Kona White for the churn dash, Scribble Notes in Charcoal from Architextures by Carolyn Friedlander for the background, IKEA Britten Nummer for the backing
Quilting: Machine quilted using Connecting Threads Essential Cotton in white using a walking foot. I started with a circle in the centre and then spiralled out using the edge of my walking foot as the guide. See a closeup of the quilting here
Batting: Hobbs Heirloom 80/20
Finished Size: 24" x 24"
Started and Completed: June 2015

I really wanted to use the texty fabric for the background but I was a bit flummoxed as to what to do about its directionality in the corner triangles. I decided to cut the squares on the bias so that the text would run on the diagonal and I'm so happy with the result!

The only thing about being an angel is that the timeline is super tight -- I finished this quilt in three evenings of non-stop sewing. It was worth it though because my partner loved it and I got to experience my favourite part of any swap, the gifting!
