Wil Bloodworth and yours truly got up at 4:00 a.m. last Thursday morning and headed off to Oxbow Bend from downtown Jackson, Wyoming.

That early morning wakeup call was well worth it when we arrived and found almost perfect conditions - great light, great color in the sky, and even some striated clouds that added another twist to the scene.

I've photographed this location several dozen times and conditions were as good as I can ever recall on that chilly June morning last week....

Our intrepid band of Flickr men and women are headed to the land of the Tetons for a photo adventure this week .... and the forecast calls for stormy weather.

I have found that those same storms that can irritate a photographer can also be an opportunity for drama in the skies.

Several years ago I was at Oxbow Bend and thought all was lost because of the cloud cover and then for a few moments the sun broke through and allowed me to capture the moment you see here.

I wish you could all join us in Grand Teton National Park for photography, fellowship and fun....

My wife and I are often asked if we have a favorite island in the Caribbean - and we find that a tough question to answer.

One island may have stunning vistas, but mediocre beaches. Another may have great duty free shopping, but its shoreline may be pedestrian.

But for sheer beauty, one would be hard pressed to beat the island of Tortola with its stunning views of St Thomas and St Johns.

And that turquoise water is always magical....
