On the outer wall of the tunnel along Donner Pass Road just outside of Truckee, CA (near Lake Tahoe).

Evidently, I arrived on the scene three days too late.

The Donner Pass Summit Tunnel Hike is one of the best hikes I have been on. The entire hike is basically walking through an old abandoned railroad tunnel that has been overrun with graffiti but is still a fantastic example of the history of Northern California.

This was on the outer walls of the tunnel. If you venture inside, it might be a good idea to go with a companion. It might feel a bit creepy if you are all by yourself.
