Image Description: |
The nature reserve Selsø Sø is located at the bottom of Møllekrogen. Selsø Lake was originally a cove in Roskilde Fjord, but for several hundred years the lake has been separated by a dam from the fjord. The bird life at the lake is varied and rich; during the winter months, waterfowl rides in large numbers, eg. up to 2000 greylag and 5000 witch and whey teeth. In the summer months, 35-40 different bird species breed. This makes Selsø Lake one of Zealand's most exciting bird sites. You can look out over the area from the bird tower on the lake's south side or from the square in front of Selsø Church. Selsø lake is part of the national park "Skjoldungernes land". |
