62 is a composite number with the divisors 2 and 31, being the eighteenth discreet semiprime. 62 has an aliquot sum of 34; itself a discrete semiprime, and the 10 member aliquot sequence (62,34,20,22,14,10,8,7,1,0). 62 is therefore the tenth member of the 7-aliquot tree. 62 is a nontotient.

It is the sum of the number of faces, edges and vertices of icosahedron or dodecahedron; and the number of faces of two of the Archimedean solids, the rhombicosidodecahedron and truncated icosidodecahedron.

62 is a repdigit in base 5 (222).
In base 10, 62 is also the only number whose cube (238328) consists of 3 digits each occurring 2 times.

Sixty-two is the atomic number of samarium, a lanthanide. It is also the code for international direct dial calls to the country of Indonesia. The Psychologist Sigmund Freud had an irrational fear of the number 62.

UK cycle route 62 is fully open and signed between the towns of Southport and Selby, 210 miles, This is from part of the Southport to Stockport section. The route begins again at Southport and runs almost entirely traffic-free through Liverpool on mostly old railway lines to Runcorn. Aside from the odd short on-road section - the longest of which is between Speke and Hale Bank to the south From Liverpool - the route from Southport to Altrincham is entirely traffic-free, continuing on canals and old railway lines between Runcorn and Altrincham.

Altrincham to Stockport is also predominantly traffic-free.
