Solar Orbiter’s latest images is the highest resolution image of the Sun’s full disc and outer atmosphere, the corona, ever taken. Solar Orbiter is a space mission of international collaboration between ESA and NASA.

I enhanced the resolution from 9148 x 9112 to 12198 x 12150 pixel by using Topaz Gigapixel AI, cleaned the noise and artifacts and did some minor tweaks. The AI did a great job of improving the image without artificially adding features as far as I can tell.

I've also made a 4K video panning over the most interesting features in 100%

No need to be lazy. I guess in times like this it is the best to work on some fun projects which are on the bucket list for too long.

This is one of my first guitars, a Charvette from 1989 which I always liked but it came in black with black hardware which looked a little bland. I had a really cool drawing that I've scribbled in a boring meeting and thought it would fit perfectly on my guitar.

So I scraped the paint from it (the painful part), transferred my drawing, and started carving for the first time.

After endless hours of try and error, I didn't know how to improve it anymore. This restive maple wood is really hard to work with, and to avoid more last minute, stupid amateur mistakes, I stained and finished the body. Later I distressed the black hardware, added a chrome pickup frame and completely re adjusted everything.

I was very well aware that this could end with an epic fail. But now I'm quite happy. I feel like a Rohanian carpenter :-)
