Pulpit Rock or Preikestolen (Prekestolen) in Norwegian is one of the area’s big tourist attractions
It’s a natural rock formation with a 25 meter squared plateau and a sheer drop of over 600 meters into the fjord (Lysefjord) below.
I think you *may* get a better sense of the height from this shot
Thousands of tourists visit the Rock every year. – although it is a two hour walk from the nearest road. The day we visited it was 26 degrees (Centigrade!! – so very warm!!) and I think many tourists turned back. But as you can see a LOT made it up there. Didn’t spoil the view though!!

I think it's time to go back to my Norway shots....and some "picture postcard" ones!!

We took a ferry from Flam out from Aurlandsfjord and into the Naeroyfjord. ("the narrowest fjord in Europe"!). The Naeroyfjord is now included on UNESCOs famous World Heritage List.
Surrounded by mountains of up to 1,800 metres high, this branch of the Sognefjord is amazingly beautiful.
I loved the way that the light fell in vast beams - some parts of the shore brightly lit and others in shadow.
Having said all that this shot taken a few minutes earlier is better!!

The plane banked sharply and I saw this looming up.....grabbed my camera just in time!
It has a strange mix of order and disorder to it, don't you think?
