This was taken nearly six years ago when the forecast for snow in Dorset looked so promising that I decided to stay in Shaftesbury. It was an ordinary winters evening when I arrived, but sure enough by morning there was a mass of snow. It didn't let up and the blizzard conditions made things difficult. The cool blue light of dawn soon faded out and people appeared making plenty of footprints. I photographed the same scene the following autumn but never again with such good snow.
