Another long absence from Flickr from me - been really busy with work, then away in Scotland for a bit. This shot is from closer to home though. In all the time I've lived in the Forest of Dean, I'd never had a view of a Goshawk quite so good as this. Admittedly it was very brief, but long enough to get a couple of shots off.

Spotted in the Forest of Dean, this Meadow Grasshopper stood out a lot better than its more conventionally coloured relatives. I believe the pink colouration is caused by a genetic abnormality. I think it's pretty unusual to see one this vivid.
