Tomo hoy una de las fotos hechas por mi hijo Raúl, en un viaje que realizó a La Habana. He tratado de tocarlas lo menos posible, excepto alguna clonación o retoque mínimo, para que por si solas, transmitan el calor de aquella ciudad y la magia de sus gentes. A mí, sinceramente, me han sorprendido. Con esta foto voy a iniciar un nuevo album, porque son fotos que me han gustado mucho.

I take today one of the photos made by my son Raúl, in a trip he made to Havana. I have tried to touch them as little as possible, except some cloning or minimal retouching, so that on their own, they transmit the heat of that city and the magic of its people. To me, honestly, I have been surprised. With this photo I'm going to start a new album, because they are photos that I liked a lot.

De nuevo, otra de las fotos hechas por mi hijo Raúl, en un viaje que realizó a La Habana hace ya algunos años.
Esta de ahora, es un homenaje a la inventiva y creatividad de aquellos cubanos que sin apenas medios ni dinero y obligados por la necesidad, mantienen un legado que te hace viajar a una época que ya sólo existe aquí.
Caminar por La Habana es como hacer un viaje a un pasado cercano, a un lugar que permanece en nuestra memoria grabado en películas en blanco y negro. Y es que La Habana además de poseer una herencia histórica y cultural de primer orden conserva milagrosamente un parque automovilístico anclado en los años 60 del siglo pasado.

Again, another of the photos made by my son Raul, on a trip he made to Havana some years ago.
This is now a tribute to the inventiveness and creativity of those Cubans who without just means and money and forced by necessity, maintain a legacy that makes you travel to an era that only exists here.
Walking through Havana is like making a trip to a near past, a place that remains in our memory recorded in black and white films. And Havana, as well as possessing a historic and cultural heritage of the first order miraculously preserves an automobile park anchored in the 60's of last century.

Desde hace varios años el Sistema educativo de Cuba ha sido distinguido por su alta calidad. La Universidad de la Habana fue fundada en 1727 y hay varias otras universidades y colegios de mucho prestigio. Luego del triunfo de la revolución de 1959, el gobierno nacionalizó todas las instituciones educativas y creó un sistema operado exclusivamente por el estado. Según un informe elaborado por el Consejo Económico y Social de la ONU, el sistema educativo presenta una orientación ideológica de carácter marxista, en concordancia con la constitución vigente, aprobada en 1976. El gobierno de la isla considera el éxito de la educación como uno de los máximos logros de la revolución socialista.

For several years the Cuban educational system has been distinguished by its high quality. After the triumph of the 1959 revolution, the government nationalized all educational institutions and created a system operated exclusively by the state. According to a report prepared by the UN Economic and Social Council, the educational system has an ideological orientation of a Marxist character, in accordance with the current constitution, adopted in 1976. The island government considers the success of education as one of the maximum achievements of the socialist revolution.
