Clifton Suspension Bridge • Bristol • 11th August 2023

Been a while since I’ve been on here.

Here’s one from this year’s Bristol International Balloon Fiesta. The beautiful morning glow lit up the Clifton Suspension Bridge beautifully before the rain clouds started to roll over. Definitely made the 3:30am start worth it.

Wesley
(01.05.2012 - 15.03.2023)

If you told me this weekend, as he was prancing around in the snow, that this would be the last photo I took of old Wes, I would never have believed you. He was always such a caring dog, a gentle giant that, while aloof, could be so needy and loving when he wanted to be.

A couple of memories spring to mind. Firstly, Christmas Day a few years ago when, at the end of the walk, Wes decided it wasn’t the end and thought it was great fun to prance around just out of arms reach (something that happened several times, earning him the nickname ‘Tw*t Dog’). Then, very recently, when I came home from work and he sat in front of me, barking and waving his paws in the air because I wouldn’t give him enough fuss. Always cheeky. Always loving.

The photos and videos show the rest. The brotherly love he showed to Hendrix, and the attention he gave to little Finbar in the short time he was with us. And the big goofy grin when he was out on a walk.

It doesn’t feel that long ago that we brought a smelly, fluffy, rotund puppy home to live with us. Nor does it feel that long since we had half the campsite trying to catch you on the shores of Loch Linnhe. How time flies.

Sleep well Wes. And say hello to Colin & Finbar from us x

Win Hill • Peak District National Park • 5th March 2022

Finally catching up on the mass of photos I need to edit…

A beautiful sunrise from a few Saturdays ago, following a spectacular view of the moon rising over the hills of Hope Valley.

Winnats Pass • Peal District National Park • 26th February 2022

I am, admittedly, very late uploading last week’s photo. This is from a beautiful sunrise over Winnats Pass & Hope Valley last Saturday.

Over Owler Tor • Peak District National Park • 19th February 2022

After a week full of storms and rubbish weather, the plan was to head out to Padley Gorge during a break in the forecast on Saturday morning.

However, as we left Sheffield, and reached the edge of the Peak, we found ourselves driving into snow! So a quick change of plan ensued and after a quick trip to Bolehill Quarry (and much waiting for snow/sleet showers to pass) we headed up to Over Owler Tor for a snowy take of one of my favourite spots.
