What the bleep? A new upload here after over 3 years? Yep, guilty as charged. ;)
I was one of those suckers that thought Instagram was the next best thing, so my activity went more and more towards Instagram when I was still combining my presence here with over there. And while it was fine at first, more and more happened over there to make my love for Instagram turn sour.
No, Flickr might not be as lively over here as it once used to be, and even here the algorithms to get into Explore probably still leave a thing or two left to be desired, but more and more, I started to realize Flickr really is still one of the better platforms to properly display photos. So that's why I'd like to give Flickr a new chance.
I'm not expecting to get as active here as I once used to be anymore, photography doesn't play as big a role in my life anymore as it once used to be. So I will cancel my Pro subscription on my old account, which comes with the unfortunate side effect that I can only have maximally 1000 photos here.
In the past couple of weeks, I have been busy deleting enough photos to be within the 1000 photo threshold on this account. This upload will be the last image on here, and then I will be moving to my new account; www.flickr.com/photos/jdj-photographynl.
There's nothing on this new account yet, but that's slowly but steadily going to change from here on. So please do start to follow me on this new account, and then I hope I'll catch you there. :)

08/01/2021; By lack of a proper light festival in Amsterdam this winter, you just go and check them out elsewhere. Like in Amersfoort, where this monastery was lit up nicely for a while. You only needed to watch out for the very bright spotlight, as you could immediately throw your photo away when this shone into your lens, but luckily I figured out the pattern quickly enough.
Besides, it was funny to see how the pond in front of me froze up more and more in the rough half an hour I stood here. :) It didn't do the reflection well, but I was glad enough with the bright (and cold) evening after a week full of cloudy weather.
